High-Intensity Discharge headlights on regular vehicles could cause temporary blindness for nighttime drivers, a research report shows.

According to the Korea Automobile Testing and Research Institute, drivers could lose their eyesight for about four seconds after looking into high-intensity headlights. That, in turn, might lead to accidents, the institute said, as four seconds is enough time to travel 130 meters (426 feet).
